Northwell Health is committed to fighting back against coronavirus (COVID-19), taking bold measures to keep our patients and fellow New Yorkers safe. Through our Emergency Operations Center, we’re working around the clock to mobilize personnel and supplies as needed, protect patients and team members, ensure access to the best treatment options and slow the spread of the virus.

How your fundraising helps

Where do the funds I raise for or donate to the Northwell Health COVID-19 Fund go? Click to read more 

The Northwell Health COVID-19 Fund was activated to provide essential support and resources for the 72,000 professionals on the front lines in the battle against the virus. Here’s how the dollars you raise or donate will be put to work to help save lives:

  • You’ll help the vast Northwell Health system coordinate with state and local governments to respond to COVID-19 while still treating all of the patients who rely on us for care.

  • You’ll help us respond to the needs of the communities we serve and to care for everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.

  • You’ll help us provide crucial support like child care and mental health services to the courageous men and women of Northwell Health who are putting themselves at risk each day by showing up to work to help others.

  • You’ll help us expand telemedicine and remote monitoring programs so we can treat seniors and immunocompromised people who are isolated due to the virus. This also helps reduce the number of people attempting to get care at our facilities, preserving much needed space for newly diagnosed patients.

  • You’ll help fuel cutting-edge labs at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, which has already launched three innovative clinical trials aimed at solving the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • You’ll help us prepare for the expected surge of new COVID-19 patients with more ventilators, ICU monitors and isolation rooms for our facilities, and protective gear for our medical teams.

The more people who join our campaign, the greater the impact we will have. If you want to help Northwell Health fight COVID-19, your friends and family probably do too. Tell them what you’re up to and invite them to join your team.

I registered as an individual but would like to form a team. How do I do that?

Easy! Simply log-in to your Participant Dashboard and under “Event Information” on the left hand side of the page you’ll see the option to change your Team Membership. Simply click and choose to start a team or join one.

Who should checks be made payable to?

  • Please ask your supporters to make checks payable to the Northwell Health Foundation and mail to: Northwell Health Foundation, 2000 Marcus Avenue, New Hyde Park, NY 11042, Attn: COVID-19 Community Fundraiser.  Download an offline donation form here.

Are there any fees in addition to the donation amount?

  • No, there are no additional fees. A minimum suggested fundraising goal of $100 per fundraiser is appreciated.

How will a donation to the Northwell Health Walk appear on a credit card statement?

  • Donations will appear on a credit card statement as “Northwell Health Foundation.”

What if people want to give me cash?

  • It is safest and best for recordkeeping that your sponsors make all of their donations through our secure website using a credit card. If this is not possible, it is best for you to convert all cash received to checks or money orders. If you are unable to convert the cash, then please call the Foundation Office at (516) 321-6333.

I handed in my form with cash donations. Why aren’t all of my donors listed on the website scroll?

  • We are not able to list individual cash donations less than $50 on the website scroll. Only team names will appear on the scroll with the total amount raised. If you did not include your team name on your form, please call (516) 321-6333.
  • Only individual donations made online can be listed on the website scroll. If you would like a tax receipt for gifts of $10 or more, please send your name, address, email and gift amount to your the Foundation.

Can I enter donations received via check to my web page?

  • Unfortunately, there isn’t an option for you to enter checks. However, once they are received at a Foundation office, we will process and add them to your web page.

If someone makes a donation to my personal page, will it be reflected on my team’s page?

  • Yes, any donation made to an individual who is a member of a team will count toward both the individual’s and team’s fundraising goal.

Can I change my personal and/or team fundraising goal once I have set it?

  • Yes, you may log into your personal and/or team fundraising pages at any time and increase or decrease your goal as necessary.

What happens if I am unable to reach the fundraising goal I have set for myself and/or my team?

  • While we encourage you to do everything you can to reach your goal, you will not be penalized if you do not reach the goal you set

Matching Gifts

What is a matching gift, and how do I find out if my company has this program?

  • Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. If your company is eligible, the impact of your gift to the Northwell Health Walk may be doubled or more!

Where do I send my matching gift form?

I submitted a form for matching gifts but don’t see the donation on my page. Where can I find it?

  • The Northwell Health Foundation cannot post a matching gift until your company approves it. Unfortunately, companies match gifts on their own timetables. If you have questions regarding your matching gift, please contact your company to see if the donation has indeed been matched. If it has, please contact Jess Dobert at (516) 321-6320 or and we will do everything we can to ensure that the donation appears on your page.


Is a corporate sponsorship tax deductible? Click to read more.

  • Funds given in exchange for sponsorship deliverables can be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please check with your company’s accounting and tax experts to get an accurate accounting of what can be declared charitable and what is a business expense.

Can sponsorship money be credited to a personal or corporate team?

  • No. Sponsorships are accounted for separately from participant donations. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please contact Lori Peterson 516-321-6332
